Heydie Orr is the founder and lead therapist of Safe Counsel LLC. Safe Counsel is a behavioral health

clinic that proudly serves the Metro Detroit Area. Heydie graduated with her Bachelors of Social Work and Minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin and her Masters of Clinical Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Being a clinician for over 15 years has afforded her the privilege to work in various types of clinical settings. She started her career working for DAIS, a domestic abuse organization in Madison, WI. After graduating, Heydie went on to relocate to Nashville, TN, where she worked as an investigator for child abuse and neglect. Before starting her private practice in 2018, Heydie worked as a school social worker for 8 years, servicing both general education and special education K-12 students in Nashville Public Schools and Novi Community School District. Currently, Heydie specializes in couples, relationship, and family therapy as well as is the Mental Health Director for Athlete Transition Services. Heydie's most meaningful work revolves around her role as wife to her husband, Jonathan, and mom to her 3 children, Carsyn, Catheryn, and Owen. In her spare time, Heydie enjoys nature walks and beach vacations.
